With your support, our local partners distributed seeds for beans to almost 400 Indigenous women in 12 communities! They also held a workshop to help women farmers learn new skills to improve their harvests.
As a result, the women were able to sell their crops and feed their families. What’s more, women in this program tell us that the money they raise helps them become more independent in their own households. They are less controlled by their husbands and have greater freedom to make decisions for themselves.
Thanks to your support, these women are living healthier lives, can provide food for their families and step up as leaders in their communities!
In the photo, you will find Albertina, a newly-elected council member for her community — a political journey that started with the economic empowerment of Harvesting Hope!
