As of October 15, 2021, we, Helping Bull Terriers Worldwide, have provided spay/neuter funds for Bull Terrier Rescue Inc (15), Bull Terrier Rescue Mission (12), Bull Terrier Rescue of Central Florida (5), and 2 other private rescuers totaling 34 dogs to date. We expect this trend to continue and that the SNAP program will be needed. We intend to continue raising funds for this program and are planning additional strategies to promote those efforts.
Since the start of the pandemic, resources have been limited. Now that things are becoming more “normal”, animal rescues are feeling the pressure. There are more pups needing assistance and unexpectedly, there are few veterinarians to provide even basic medical services. HBTW is helping alleviate some of the pressure by providing a safety net of funds for basic medical care for these bull terriers in rescue.
One special story we want to share is regarding a recent owner surrenders. There are three a boy and 2 girls given up by a single owner. These pups, yes, all are less than a year old, were surrendered because the owner is unable to care for them any longer. HBTW will be able to help these pups by assisting the rescuers with SNAP funds for the 2 spays and 1 neuter so that much needed funds for other dogs that have severe medical needs are available. These pups and the many other Bull Terriers being brought into rescue on a daily basis still need our help. HBTW will continue to be there!
