Mindful of the traveling difficulties given the current unrest, the Management of the Shisong Cardiac Center organized a series of screening and consultations for people with heart-related conditions and postoperative heart patients in the towns of Bamenda, Douala, Yaounde, and Baham. This made it much easier for those needing care in those areas to seek help. The turnout was massive and we were glad to see so many of our postoperative patients strong and healthy.
Unfortunately, until safe travel can be assured, we have not scheduled any further pediatric missions. But given the continuing problems, support is more important than ever, since there will be a huge backlog of cases for our next mission. We are a "superstar" on Global Giving, and were one of their top-ranked organizations in 2018.
We put our trust in God to continue to protect and sustain us in times like these so that we may continue to be of service in 2019.
