Women Inspiration Development Center Agency Development and Resource Center (ADREC) is to create a safe place to transform the lives of survivors of insurgency and insecurity in Nigeria especially women and girls. Many are widows, fatherless, homeless, jobless and no where to turn to after been driven away from their homes as a result of insurgency and insecurity. The refugees camp available could not contain all of them and so many ended up begging and sleeping on the streets.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the UN agency for refugees, on Wednesday 12th of April, 2023 said over 80,000 refugees and 3.2 million internally displaced persons as result of the insurgency and insecurity were in Nigeria and in dire need of help.
Nigeria has a total of 143,110 IDP camps out of which 84% are located in Borno state. Nigeria has the third highest number of IDPs in Africa as at 2020.
In our center, survivors including the internally displaced people will have a safe place to heal, rebuild their lives and then create a new path forward in life. This is our new initiative in the next 3 years. ADREC will be a center of hope for many hopeless right now in Nigeria.
No donation yet for the building of the center to take off but we are presently gathering the girls round Nigeria who could be part of our online resource development but the sad thing is the most disenfrachised don't have access to internet.
We are hopefully and patiently awaiting donation for this laudable project to take off fully.
