With the $50 we are able to gather through this project, Blessing a once-rescued trafficked girl is now thriving after being taken off the streets and now excelling in her pursuit of tailoring skills. Blessing came from one of the rural parts of Plateau State in Nigeria. Her life which was going on well crumbled when her father was killed by the bandit and then Blessing had to withdrawn from school to be trafficked to South West of Nigeria to become an housemaid so that the money can be sending home to cater for her mother and her siblings.
One day after being so maltreated by her master, Blessing ran away from home and was wandering in the street when Women Inspiration Development Center rescued her. She has been in our shelter 7 months and Blessing will be finishing her training in May to be certified to start her own business in tailoring. She learnt so fast to the point that by now she is already training others in her training center.
We are hoping to buy the materials for her to start her business fully in tailoring by May after her graduation and then sent back home in Miango, Plateau state to join her family.
There are still thousands of girls like Blessing in the crisis area of the middle belt part of Nigeria that are traumatised and need help to live their dream. This is the vision of Women Inspiration Development Center!
