Help Build a Free Primary School in Nairobi Slums.

Dear estemeed Friends,

We thank you for donating to Compassion CBO "Help Build a Free Primary School in Nairobi Slums". https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/help-construct-container-school-in-githogoro-slum/

Your Donation has helped us raise $18,927 out of $96,982 goal.

During the month of March 2021 you helped us raise $4117.28.

We have bought 5 containers 200 text books and 30 lockable tables for the school from January to December 2020 . In January and February 2021  we have bought more tables and chairs for children to provide social distancing among children  due to Covid 19 pandemic. We are progressing well and we are getting new donations.  We are on track. We need to raise   more money to buy the remaining 4 containers in quarter 2 of 2021. From January 21 we are providing breakfast and lunch for all children at school.

Buying 1 container and converting it to classroom it cost USD3326

Due to COVID-19  the ministry of education has given details for social distance among pupils of 1.5 Metres apart per pupil in class rooms  to avoid congestion so we are in great Urgency to raise the remaining 4 containers. In total we need 10 containers.

Thank so much for donating to this noble project.

Help Build a Free Primary School in Nairobi Slums

We are building a high standard modern Container primary school suitable for an informal settlement (slum) in Githogoro, Nairobi, Kenya - to provide high quality education for needy families living below $365 per year. Our aim is to give free access to education for children who otherwise have no education, so they can break out of the vicious cycle of extreme poverty. Since 2005 we have given access to education for over 1,000 children from the slums and we want to increase the number to 3,000 Children by 2030. Help share with friends is also a great contribution.
