Greetings from St Martins school and the Kibagare Community.
We have made good progress in our engagement with the local NGO producing compostable pads in Kenya. We are still keen on working with them and have an agreement on how to work together.
Thanks to the efforts of one of our volunteers visiting the school in the month of March. We were able to purchase 500 compostable pads. These were distributed to the girls in our primary school in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 and the girls in our high school.
188 girls in Primary school and 170 girls in secondary school, were trained on menstrual health hygiene in the school. Vijana Amani Pamoja's group helped with the training and after the training, all the participants were provided with compostable sanitary pads.
We are continuing to sensitize and work with our partners and the community to help on matters of menstrual health and we hope through this we will able to create an environment ideal and accommodating for all to learn and appreciate all aspects of menstrual health and hygiene.
With the support, we have received so far and continued to receive it is our hope that we will be able to achieve our set goals. We appreciate the continued efforts for this cause.
Thank you and best regards,
Alfred Aswan.
