Struggling Families Need Help with the Basics
At TLC Children’s Centre, we work daily with children and families facing immense hardship—many without the most basic necessities of life. The need is overwhelming, and while our GlobalGiving project "Help Keep the Arc of Social Justice Bending in RSA" shares this vision, we must acknowledge that we have not yet managed to raise the support required to meet even the foundational costs of our work.
This is not just about keeping our doors open. It's about ensuring that children in our care—those with no safety net, no family to fall back on, and no means to advocate for themselves—continue to receive nourishment, education, medical support, and emotional stability. It’s about supporting families who are barely holding on, so they can stay together and move from crisis toward dignity.
Right now, the gap between what is needed and what we can provide is growing. Without more consistent support, our ability to serve these children and families is at risk. We are starting from scratch to build a new, more sustainable model—but we cannot do that without help to bridge the now.
This is a heartfelt appeal. If you’ve supported before, thank you—we are deeply grateful. If you’re considering giving, please know that your contribution has real, immediate impact. Together, we can still bend the arc of social justice—if we do not turn away.
