Amidst the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement, there is one thing that is absolute. The BLM has to become more than a phrase, bumper sticker, or advertisement campaign. With more than $76 billion dollars being raised for the BLM movement, it's unfortunate that organizations like Can I Live who has been doing grassroots work where it counts for more than 17 years, have little to no success raising funds. We would love your advice on how we can improve.
We joined this platform to help spread the impact of our work. We cannot move One Million Moms OFF Welfare without addressing the needs of FATHERS- Period!
While there are tons of support for wildlife, the one demographic of species that has not only been forgotten but ignored is the African American Male Human Being. The head of families, provider, and protector of his children.
Thus far, your support has helped us retain a contractor who assists us in recruiting fatherhood program partners and share with them our resources, networks, education, and advocacy tools. We have only been able to retain him for a few short hours per month. We are working on other grants to stabilize this source of funding and operations as it is vital to Can I Live achieving its mission to move One Million Moms OFF Welfare by 2030.
I want to thank you for your support because YOU GET IT! You Understand! And we believe soon, the entire world will also understand how important it is to support fathers to become higher income earners, better parent partners, and better fathers. This is the starting point to reducing and curbing crime, poverty, mass incarceration, juvenile delinquency, children in foster care, poor education outcomes, and incomes.
