The four puppies that we rescued from under the bridge in the local town of Acornhoek, were only a few days old but lots of time, love, ( money) and bottle feeding, and they are now happy healthy strong dogs. We cannot underestimate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and its ripple effects of poverty impacting not only people but their animals. Compassion is round is a key word here. Our puppies just went for their 5-in-1 booster shot which prevents things like distemper and parvo and are so happy at their new homes.
Thanks so sponsors support we were able to sterilize 19 male dogs in a Sterilization day, with several local vets coming to Nourish to do the sterilizations on our property to make it logistically easier to transport so many dogs. It was amazing and the Nourish team were so hands on, especially Martin who spoke to every owner and wazs responsible for every dog getting a signed steri-form, he is our local community animal champion!
We also have other cases being brought to us, such as sick dogs and puppies with dislocated hips, we always try to help... whether we have the funds for it or not, so if you can spare a few EURO please know we always put it to good use.
Martin also is learning more about the veterinary process and was even allowed to dress in scrubs to observe the operations, he is so passionate and says one day he wants to be a vet and run the Nourish animal clinic, so who knows what might happen one day.
thank you all for the love and support. Keep it coming, and stay safe xx
