Hundreds of Zambian children fall victim to trafficking and exploitation yearly. A sudden U.S. aid freeze now threatens critical support for survivors, cutting legal aid, emergency shelter, and reintegration services. UP Zambia, through the U.S. funded JTIP program, has helped 600+ victims, including a 14-year-old girl rescued from forced servitude. Without urgent funding, many more will be left without legal protection, psychological care, or a path to freedom.
Many trafficking survivors are wrongly detained without legal aid or mental health support, misidentified as criminals instead of victims. This leads to prolonged imprisonment and greater vulnerability to exploitation. Untreated trauma from trafficking and substance abuse hinders reintegration, increasing re-exploitation risk. With the U.S. aid freeze, critical legal aid, emergency shelter, and psychosocial services have been severely impacted, leaving victims without support.
The solution starts with you, your support will bring justice, healing, and hope to trafficking victims far from home. By keeping this project alive, your contribution can provide life-saving interventions for one trafficking survivor:$25 Individual assessment of 1 child receive counseling, rehabilitation and reintegration support. Without urgent funding, over 2,000 trafficking victims will remain trapped without justice or support.
Time is running out! Your donation will help survivors escape wrongful imprisonment, receive critical mental health care, and rebuild their lives. UP Zambia is committed to restoring dignity and hope while empowering communities to combat trafficking. But we can't do this without you.
