Our partner, Nirman Foundation, has continued to provide ration and hygiene kits to people in the villages who have lost earning members to COVID or lost their livelihoods due to the lockdown. Apart from carrying out distribution for essential items, the partners have raised awareness about the precautionary health measures to prevent Covid -19 such as wearing masks, maintaining physical distance and washing hands etc. There is often a gap between Government announcements for COVID-related support and the implementation of these programmes. There are many complex reasons for this, but the role of NGOs such as that of our partner NIRMAN can be essential to bridge that gap and help people access the support they’re entitled to.
With limited health infrastructure in the face of rising COVID cases and lockdown restrictions returning in certain places, vulnerable & marginalised communities continue to face barriers to access critical services.
Your help will mean a lot to them.
Regards,
Karuna Team
