Dear Valued Donors and Supporters,

We're writing to update you on our project, "Help Us Raise Wetland Conservation by Prizing Kids", which aligns with our today's theme: "This Year's Call Relates to Rights of Wetlands."

For 2024, we're introducing a new educational initiative:

  1. Participants: Two rural schools around Lake Tota will be invited to join our project.
  2. Activity: Students will create story-telling series using Kamishibai, a traditional Japanese visual storytelling method.
  3. Theme: The stories will focus on explaining the Universal Rights of Wetlands, making this important topic accessible to young minds.
  4. Educational Goals: This project aims to:
    • Increase understanding of wetland conservation among rural students
    • Develop creative skills through storytelling
    • Create educational resources for broader community use
  5. Community Impact: By involving rural schools, we hope to strengthen local connections to wetland environments.

This initiative represents a step forward in our mission to educate young people about the importance of wetlands. By motivating them to participate in fair competitions, we aim to encourage their interest and help them maintain lasting connections to nature.

We believe that engaging students through creative storytelling can foster a lasting appreciation for these vital ecosystems. Combining the Rights of Wetlands with Kamishibai will bring a special attraction to this year's Múcura Award.

Your support makes projects like this possible. We look forward to sharing the outcomes with you as they develop.

Thank you for your continued commitment to wetland conservation and education.

Warm regards,

Felipe Velasco
