Dear Supporters and Friends,
We want to share an important update on the growing needs in Haiti and our response through the Youth Empowerment Program. Recently, the UN reported that 180,000 of the 578,074 internally displaced people in Haiti are children. Many of these children have resettled in rural areas like Sodo, which are struggling to support the sudden influx of people. This crisis is evident in the unprecedented number of calls we’ve received from residents desperately seeking assistance.
As the new school year approaches, we are confronted with the challenge of supporting a significantly increased number of children and women in need. In response, we are committed to scaling up our operations to accommodate more of these vulnerable individuals. We are working tirelessly to expand our capacity, ensuring that every child has access to education and essential resources, and that their families receive the support they need.
Thank you for your continued support as we navigate these challenging times. Your generosity enables us to adapt and respond to the urgent needs of our community, making a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Sincerely,
The Home Roots Foundation Team
