Report - COVID-19: help women victims of violence

Thanks to the donations that are continuously collected through this platform, we have been able to continue to provide various forms of help and support to women who are in emergency situations. Donations allow us to respond adequately and in real time to the still increasing needs of women as a result of the still current Covid 19 pandemic.

The crisis has highlighted a number of systemic shortcomings. DOMINE provides counseling services, but over the past (2020) Counseling has started to act like a crisis center and this continues to this day. This is also the reason why we launched the initiative to open the first Crisis Center in Split (and in Croatia). In addition, we have expanded the forms of support we offer - financial and material support, 24-hour telephone availability and field visits (mainly to rural areas, areas with bad transport connections, low-income users or users with health conditions).

The money raised through the platform from the beginning of April until today has been used to cover services provided to women who contacted Counseling center, for which the organization did not have the funds. The costs of one part of psychological, psychosocial and legal counseling were covered, beneficiary emergency crisis accommodationa and direct financial assistance to cover basic living needs. In the last period the most funds were used for psychological support and crisis accommodation.

Covid isn't in a full swing anymore but the crisis has not decreased. The need for financial and material assistance remains high, and the funds allocated to civil society organizations for direct work with beneficiaries are insufficient. Nevertheless, we are making every effort to secure funding and continue to help women in need.

Report - COVID-19: help women victims of violence

Thanks to donations collected we were able to continue with urgent respond to increased needs of women victims of domestic violence!

Your donations made possible for us to urgently respond to increased needs of women. Above all, that refers to increased need for urgent accommodation and urgent support in the moment when institutions were not available or able to help because of lockdown. The crisis has highlighted a number of system shortcomings. DOMINE provide consulting services, but during last (2020) Counseling center started acting like a crisis center and that prolonged to this day. That's also the reason why we started the initiative to open the first Crisis Center in Split (and in Croatia). Other than that, we have expended forms of support that we offer - financial and material support, 24/7 phone availability and field visits (mostly to rural areas, por traffic connectivity, low-income beneficiaries or poor health beneficiaries).

Slightly more than half amount were spent on costs incurred as a result of the Covid-19 crisis for which the organization did not have the funds (crisis accommodation, financial and material support to women survivals of violence and victims of domestic violence, just like field visits when they were not able to visit our organization but needed urgent help and support). Second part of the funds was used for legal and psychological support.

During 2020, DOMINE provided 629 hours of support (in total), which is an increase of 300% over the previous year/period. We provided support to a total of 162 women, among which 15 people received direct financial/material assistance and 12 were accommodated to safe place. Due to various financial/health problems, the Counseling staff did field visits to women victims of violence 14 times, helped 3 women to get a job and 6 of them were economically empowered.

After all, the intensity now after one year of lockdown is not reduced. Need for financial and material help is still high. Government has reduced funds from the state, regional and local budgets from 30-50%. Nevertheless, we make every effort to secure funding and continue to help women in need.

Zahvaljujuci prikupljenim donacijama uspjeli smo nastaviti s hitnim reagiranjem na povecane potrebe zena zrtava obiteljskog nasilja!

Vaše donacije omogucile su nam da hitno odgovorimo na povecane potrebe zena. To se prije svega odnosi na povecanu potrebu za hitnim smještajem i hitnom podrškom u trenutku kada institucije nisu bile dostupne ili mogle pomoci zbog pandemije virusa. Kriza je ukazala na niz sistemskih nedostataka. DOMINE pruzaju usluge savjetovanja, ali tijekom prošle (2020) Savjetovalište je pocelo djelovati poput kriznog centra i to se produzilo do danas. To je i razlog zašto smo pokrenule inicijativu za otvaranje prvog Kriznog centra u Splitu (i u Hrvatskoj). Osim toga, proširili smo oblike podrške koje nudimo - financijsku i materijalnu potporu, 24-satnu dostupnost telefona i terenske posjete (uglavnom u ruralna podrucja, prometnu povezanost, korisnike s niskim primanjima ili loše zdravstvene korisnike).

Nešto više od polovice iznosa potrošeno je na troškove nastale kao rezultat krize Covid-19 za koje organizacija nije imala sredstava (krizni smještaj, financijska i materijalna potpora zenama koje su prezivjele nasilje i zrtvama obiteljskog nasilja, baš kao i na terenske posjete kada nisu mogli posjetiti našu organizaciju, ali im je bila potrebna hitna pomoc i podrška). Drugi dio sredstava iskorišten je za pravnu i psihološku podršku.

Tijekom 2020. godine DOMINE je pruzio 629 sati podrške (ukupno), što je porast od 300% u odnosu na prethodnu godinu/razdoblje. Pruzili smo potporu ukupno 162 zene, meu kojima je 15 osoba dobilo izravnu novcanu/materijalnu pomoc, a 12 je smješteno na sigurno mjesto. Zbog razlicitih financijskih/zdravstvenih problema, osoblje Savjetovališta 14 puta je obišlo zene zrtve nasilja, pomoglo 3 zene da se zaposle i 6 od njih je ekonomski osnazeno.

Napokon, intenzitet nakon jedne godine pandemije virusa i krize nije smanjen. Potreba za financijskom i materijalnom pomoci i dalje je velika. Vlada je smanjila sredstva iz drzavnog, regionalnog i lokalnog proracuna s 30-50%. Unatoc tome, cinimo sve napore kako bismo osigurali financiranje i nastavljamo pomagati zenama u nevolji.
