In Madagascar, where the health expenditure is among the lowest globally, access to quality healthcare remains a significant challenge. Rural health facilities are in urgent need of improvements to better serve individuals who rely on them. over 16,000 individuals rely on the Centre de Santé de Base (CSB) in Manambaro alone, and SEED is taking action at this location by enhancing essential infrastructure and ensuring safer, more dignified healthcare conditions.
Through the CSB Strengthening project in Manambaro, SEED is repairing six latrines, constructing a menstrual hygiene management facility, and installing a 10,000-litre rainwater harvesting system. These improvements will provide clean water and proper sanitation, directly addressing preventable diseases and improving patient safety. By creating a healthier and more sanitary environment, the project ensures that both patients and medical staff have the facilities they need.
A critical aspect of this initiative is the installation of a 450-watt solar power system, which will provide reliable nighttime lighting. This means safer childbirth experiences, better emergency care, and a more effective healthcare system overall. Additionally, CSB staff are receiving WASH training, ensuring the long-term sustainability of these improvements and empowering the local community with vital hygiene knowledge.
Your support is essential in making this transformation possible and we are grateful for how far you have helped us to come. With continued funding, we can expand these efforts and further improve healthcare for the Manambaro community. Every donation supports our efforts towards ensuring that mothers deliver safely, children receive proper medical attention, and families have access to clean water and sanitation.
