Many Syrians are now able to return to their cities without fear of being arrested or killed. However, at the same time, many people cannot return because they do not have homes to return to and living conditions are so dire. Still, many Syrian families living in camps in the northern Syrian region. These camps are severely overcrowded, leading to inadequate living conditions, limited access to basic services, and increased vulnerability to disease outbreaks.
IBC provides basic services because many camps lack access to clean water, sanitation, and adequate healthcare. This contributes to the spread of diseases like cholera and acute diarrhea.
Food shortages and rising prices have led to widespread food insecurity among camp residents. Malnutrition, especially among children, is a significant concern.Providing food parcels is an effective and immediate intervention to address food insecurity in the camps. These parcels, designed to meet the basic dietary needs of families, ensure that refugees have access to sufficient and nutritious food. Moreover, by meeting the immediate nutritional needs of people, this project will not only alleviate hunger but also provide a foundation for improved health, stability, and resilience during these challenging circumstances. This initiative is an urgent priority to mitigate the worsening humanitarian crisis and support those most in need.
Food parcels are comprised of sugar 2 kg, rice 7.5 kg, vegetable ghee 0.5 kg, sunflower oil 4 liters, beans 2kg, pasta 2kg, lentils 2 kg., chickpeas 2 kg, canned tuna 4 pcs.
Priority is given to households headed by women who are the most vulnerable. In addition, during the distributions, women are invited to accompany the heads of households to receive the food packages as they are the first users. They are therefore able to participate in the management of the goods supplied.
