I want to thank you for your support of IAIA’s Sustainable Africa Initiative, and provide a progress report on the impact of your gift. Your generosity enabled IAIA to provide five talented and worthy individuals with access to the Symposium, “Our Interconnected World: Impact Assessment, Health, and the Environment.” https://conferences.iaia.org/virtual2020/
Let me briefly summarized the backgrounds of the five individuals, whose lives and communities you have positively affected:
In addition, in order to provide them with the most recent concepts in impact assessment, these individuals have already been given access to the highly regarded journal, Impact Assessment and Project Appraisal, and access to mentoring and advice to hundreds of talented professionals worldwide through the tool IAIAConnect.
During 2021, another five individuals will benefit from taking the online course Foundations of Impact Assessment.
Lastly, your support helped bring this project to the attention of the African Wildlife Foundation, the government of Norway, and the World Bank. IAIA will be partnering with them in the coming months to scale up this project across the African continent in collaboration with other organizations.
