Access to clean water and sanitary facilities for the IDP families

By Gloria Bolarinwa | Grants Administrator

Dear donors and supporters,

Compliments of the season to you and your families.

Your generous donations in September 2020 have reduced water shortage problems, Open Defecation (OD) and mitigated the spread of the COVID-19 in the camp. Since the automated borehole provision connected to  ten tap points, long travels to nearby streams have been eliminated. Also, ingestion of unclean water from the streams has been curbed; therefore, water-borne diseases that lead to child-mortality are expected to reduce drastically.

The funds raised so far, four toilet facilities and ten taps and handwashing areas have been provided to the camp. Hygiene awareness programs have educated the people on adopting handwashing as a lifestyle, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic.

More IDPs are embracing the use of the sanitary facilities; thus, promoting an Open Defecation Free (ODF) environment.
This was achievable because of you; therefore, we say thank you for your support as it is making a significant impact on the lives of the families and society.
