Dear Friends,
It has been a slow few months for fundraising on this project, but the school has still been busy, helping the children learn as best they can. We have been able to help the school get a few priority items, such as some more beds for the students from further away who have to board.
It has been a tough few months for the Simanjiro district in general, with the failure of the small rains, which are supposed to come in November and December. Other than a couple of showers on 2 or 3 days, nothing materialised, so the local community have not been able to plant any of the crops to help feed themselves this year. Also many of the cattle upon whom so much depends in Maasai culture have been starving, since all their grazing has died. Everybody is now praying for the long rains to come in March, which they hope will make things better.
We'd be so grateful if you're able to share this project and the situation that our communities in Simanjiro find themselves with your friends, so that we are able to support them during this difficult time.
Best regards
