Dear supporters and supporters to be,
Well... it has been another slow quarter for fundraising, BUT we are determined that this year will be different and we will get some more donations for school supplies!
It has been another slow few months for fundraising, and we sadly haven’t been able to provide much support for the high school as we know we want to. Having worked closely with the school and the surrounding communities, we really see how additional funding could help bring the school to life. Whilst the school is still operating and providing a good standard of education to the young children in the area, small donations could make a huge difference to the learning environment.
It has been a tough few months for the Simanjiro district in general, with the failure of the small rains, which are supposed to come in November and December. Other than a couple of showers on 2 or 3 days, nothing materialised, so the local community have not been able to plant any of the crops to help feed themselves this year. Also many of the cattle upon whom so much depends in Maasai culture have been starving, since all their grazing has died. Everybody is now praying for the long rains to come in March, which they hope will make things better.
The SVRG team are heading out to Terat in January, and we can send updates, as well as specific requests from the school in terms of the resources they need. If you have any additional questions about this project, please feel free to get in touch!
Please project report on your social media channels and across your personal network!!! If you are not in a financial position to donate at the moment- this is also extremely helpful!
Thank you again to all who have donated so far.
All the best,
Iona
