Increasing skills and use of Pads This report outlines the impactful progress made in empowering girls through skill development and menstrual hygiene awareness. Skills Development: Sessions Held: 10 successful sessions were conducted. Participation: Over 65 girls actively participated, demonstrating strong engagement. Skills Covered: Diverse skills workshops were offered, including: Practical skills: Pad making, bakery, liquid soap making, crafts, kitchen gardens. Life skills: Communication skills, basic financial literacy. Impact: Confidence boost: Participants reported increased confidence and self-worth. Income generation: Several girls started using their skills to earn income, paving the way for financial independence. Community impact: Participants shared their skills with others, creating a ripple effect of empowerment. Menstrual Hygiene Awareness: Sessions Conducted: 4 interactive sessions effectively addressed girls' concerns and questions. Key Topics: Importance of menstrual hygiene, safe pad usage, management of period symptoms, breaking taboos. Outcome: Increased knowledge and positive attitudes towards menstrual hygiene, promoting overall health and well-being. Testimonies: Participant A: "Learning pad-making changed my life. I can now sell them and support my family." Participant B: "The sessions boosted my confidence and knowledge. I feel empowered to manage my periods hygienically." Participant C: (15): "Before, I used to miss school during my periods due to shame and lack of pads. Now, I make and sell my own pads, feeling empowered and confident! Conclusion: By equipping girls with valuable skills and promoting menstrual hygiene awareness, we are not only empowering individuals but also fostering positive change within the Kamuli community.
