As we enter the new year of 2021, we want to recognize that our humanity brought us together in the spirit of unity and solidarity to create infinite possibilities to thrive. We are so excited to report that thanks to your generosity, we at Conuco Campesino were able to purchase the first ten (10) water cisterns for the community! 99 people decided to be the change and collectively donated $10,576 to our project, a small act that will bring about a huge change in the everyday lives of some of the most at risk elderly in our community.
One of our community members was kind enough to offer his flatbed truck and transported the cisterns to our site, where we are currently waiting for other materials to be available and start the installations. Volunteers and elderly recipients are enthusiastic and ready to jump into the next phase of the project, hoping that by April we will have not only installed the cisterns we have at hand, but that we may continue to receive the support of other donors like yourself that wish to accept the opportunity to collaborate with our efforts towards building resiliency in the area of access to clean water.
To that effect, we ask that you continue your support to reach our goal of installing 20 water cisterns for the most vulnerable in rural Mayagüez, Puerto Rico and share our project with your friends and family. It is people like yourself that gives us strength to continue doing the work of rebuilding in the aftemath of natural disasters. Let us keep showing the world that solidarity is actionable and together become a better planet for generations to come!
Once again, thank you!
