Dear friend,
Thank you so much for your support to finance the rehabilitation of 7 burned children in Peru. Our little patientes are doing their best job to receive and follow therapists indications! Here in ANIQUEM everyone is just happy to see them and bring back memories how these kids were at the beginning and how they are now. We couldn’t have come this far without you!!!
Today I would like to introduce you one of the children you are supporting. His name is Miroslav, he’s 3 years old and lives with aunties and his grandmother.
Last year, one night while his aunt was cooking he asked for bread. Unfortunately, while he enjoyed his bread, a piece fell into a pot of hot food that was on the floor. -Here in poor areas it is common to put the pots on the floor so they can cool down the food inside- Seeing his bread inside, the little boy introduces his hand into the hot pot to remove it from the inside, action that caused severe burns on his face, right arm and hand.
At first their parents used to bring Miroslav to the center, but after a while they began to have some serious relationship issues. So his mother left him in the care of his grandmother and aunts. Despite the difficult situation facing, this little boy is doing his best with physical and occupational therapies, but still has a long way to go with the psychological ones because he must overcome many traumas by be growing up without his parents.
Miroslav is a very sweet and playful child (always jumping around there)and I am sure you would fall in love with him instantly if you would have the chance to get to know him. So to give thanks and say goodbye this little man asked me send you this photo of a turtle that he made with “so much love and all my powers” as he told me. Did I forget to mention he is a superhero?
Thank you again for all your support this year. We’re really blessed to count on you!!!
Best wishes in this new year!
