By Steve Gwenin | GVI Charitable Trust Director
Despite a surprisingly successful year for the Global Vision International Charitable Trust, this project has struggled to get the attention and the donors that we feel it deserves. We have enough donations for us to start to move the project forward, and are now selecting scholars to train in 2013, which is great news, but we desperately need further funds to be able to reach a higher number of scholars in future years.
As a result of the need and what we feel is the great need for this project given the state of UK unemployment, in particular between the ages of 16 and 18, we are prioritizing this project and focusing our attentions on finding ways to seek further donors and fundraisers and give it a higher profile. As this year has seen some great success for the GVI CT, and some great recognition of our work which has been very helpful in forming partnerships and relationships, we feel we now have the momentum to allow us to move this project forward further in 2013. We are teaming up with a very well known UK charity on this project to give us greater access to funds from the UK government, UK corporations, fundraisers and donors. The partnership should also enable an easier selection process for the scholars.
In the New Year we plan to announce the partnership and use it to award the scholarship that we can presently fund, and through reporting upon their experiences raise further funds. Any assistance or help you can offer in fundraising is desperately needed and welcome! For more information, please see www.gvi.org
Thank you for your kind donations that have allowed the project to get this far, and all the very best,
Steve
