What a joy to see all our students happily walking through the Jenaro's door on their first day of school 2022/2023!

They will finally be able to attend Monday through Friday, in their usual schedule from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm. The teachers and aides, inspired by how wonderful this new school year will be, decorated the classrooms with colorful welcome posters.

After almost two years of distance learning, we can gather in the multipurpose room, sing the National Anthem, pray to the Virgin Mary, and thank her for a new beginning. Then, the students quietly go up to their classrooms and begin the scheduled academic activities.

At that moment, the multipurpose room gradually becomes the school dining room, our staff sets up tables, chairs, silverware, napkins, and waits in silence for the preschool children to come down to receive their nutritious and tasty lunch, which the ladies in the kitchen have been preparing since very early in the morning.

So they go down to lunch, starting at 11:00, in groups, the youngest first, until they reach the oldest kids of the school, the 6th graders.

While the children are in their classrooms, the ladies in charge of the kitchen are preparing the lunch scheduled for that day, at the Maria Luisa Casar Medical Clinic, the doctors are attending to their patients, people from the community who need primary medical attention. On Mondays, Vero, our pediatrician, fills her office with children and babies; on Wednesdays and Thursdays, Luis receives pregnant women; and Naileth, every day she attends to general medicine. Finally, at the end of the morning, all the Medical Clinic staff enjoys the lunch of the day, and the day ends.

And so, day by day Jenaro opens its doors to the community of Barrio 24 de Marzo, to serve the children, providing them with education, food and health, preparing them for a future full of opportunities.
