John is one of the Kenyan children you have helped reunite with his family. John’s mother passed away during labour which left him the under care of his grandmother. He was placed in an orphanage when he was only one month old - sadly his grandmother was not able to take care of him due to his young age.
John stayed at the orphanage for five years, until Vision Africa worked with the Department of Children Services and other community leaders to reunite him with his grandmother. The Vision Africa staff and the orphanage social workers visited the family several times and continued to work with John and his family members until John was able to move back in permanantly to the family home.
Today, John is very happy with his grandmother and he loves helping her feed the chickens and cows as well as going to the farm together. John’s grandmother is so happy and always tells us now she has someone to keep her company since her husband is not home most of the days. John goes to a nearby public school in company of other children from their village.
Your support helps John and children like him to grow up in a loving family environment and get the education they deserve. John and his grandmother also attend get togethers where he gets to meet other reintegrated children and friends to catch up and play.
Thank you so much your support of this project and we look forward to sharing more stories like John's with you in the coming months.
Kind regards,
