Project Report | Dec 8, 2022
Report on our project, helping children with cancer

By Dr. Samuel Guma | Co Founder, Executive Director

Our project for disadvantaged children with cancer, is not over until all children with cancer in Uganda, have support so they can access treatment.

It is hard to believe that 2022 is drawing to a close. And, I think for many it has been a tough year. However, there is still a lot of goodwill in the world and we must have faith that people will continue to help and support each other to make our world a safer and healthier planet.

Let 2023 be a year of more sustainable and peaceful outcomes for everyone.

We are grateful to our wonderful supporters during 2022, in particular your support during the GlobalGiving campaigns. The incentives and support GlobalGiving provides projects like ours, gives us that extra boost in funds so we can do more.

How your donation has supported the children throughout the year.

  • 360 children and caregivers with free accommodation, meals, transport.
  • 43,680 meals for the children and their caregivers.

There are currently 181 children in remission and for 41 families whose children died this year from this terrible illness, it will be a very difficult time for them and our love and thoughts go out to them.

Give a Gift that keeps on giving

Christmas is an important time for Christians and the messages of peace and love are more important than ever for all of us. It is a time of ‘giving’ and while we enjoy giving gifts and receiving them, there is now so much ‘stuff’ that we are often given and we don’t use or use once and forget about it.

Why don’t we shake things up this festive period?

Give a gift that makes a difference, and that people will appreciate it as it will be a gift that keeps on giving.

You can purchase a Gift Card through GlobalGiving and the options are:

  • Make a donation in honour of someone special and send them a note and if you wish to support our children with cancer, the project name is “Helping poor children with cancer to access treatment.”

Or, buy a Gift Card and the recipient can redeem it to a project that matters to them. Hopefully our project!

Kawempe Home Care would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a safe and Merry Christmas.

Thank you for your wonderful support throughout 2022.
