Dear friends,
Happy New Year!
We want to share with you what we have done in the recent months.
In September, the children from Ukraine, who intensively studied the Bulgarian language with us, started school. We assisted their parents in the initial communication with the schools. We helped them fill out the paperwork. For a boy with interests in the field of arts, we have prepared a special opinion in order to be allocated an additional place for him in a vocational high school of arts.
Along with this, we continued with the Bulgarian language lessons in which the children increasingly improve their level of the language proficiency. During classes we spend a lot of time talking and directly communicating. We also play educational games with the younger students which they really like.
Just before the Christmas holidays we made art workshops for Christmas cards where the children had a lot of fun. They made lovely cards for their parents and friends with great desire.
In 2023, we plan to continue with the Bulgarian lessons, and also to create a set of training materials to support the work of teachers in other cities who teach refugee and migrant children.
