Some children in our programme have specific learning difficulties that have not been identified by their school. It is frequently assumed by teachers that these learning difficulties are a result of the children's lack of proficiency in the Bulgarian language. The individual approach and small group work enable us to monitor the children closely and promptly identify those who are struggling and require assistance. In such cases, we engage specialists to provide additional support, with the objective of enabling the child to progress more quickly. Over the past few months, we have been working on a specific case after our Bulgarian language teacher identified difficulties with one of the children's reading abilities. During the summer months, we have used this time to prepare the children for their literature studies in the upcoming school year. They have learned a number of new words and gained insight into the historical context of the period in which the classics of Bulgarian literature were written.
