Help provide a future

By Maisie Mayne | Fundraising intern

To our supporters,

What's the Big Idea?

Imagine a place where people can learn new skills, start their own businesses, and help the environment at the same time. That's what the MAV Centre wants to be. It's like a superhero headquarters for the community!

The Problem:

  • Unemployment: Lots of people don't have jobs.
  • Poverty and Hunger: Many families struggle to have enough food and basic needs.
  • Waste Management: There might be issues with keeping the environment clean.
  • Lack of Education and Support: People don't have the tools to change their situations.

The Solution: The MAV Centre

The MAV Centre wants to buy a building near a school. This building will become a hub, a place where people can:

  • Learn valuable skills like:
    • Skilled trades (like carpentry or plumbing)
    • Office work
    • Catering (cooking and food service)
    • Sewing
  • Get help turning their business ideas into real businesses.
  • Participate in internships (like on the job training).
  • Learn eco-friendly practices.

Why is this cool?

  • Empowerment: It gives people the tools to help themselves.
  • Community Hub: It creates a central place for people to gather and support each other.
  • Eco-Friendly: It teaches people how to take care of the environment.
  • Long-Term Change: It aims to create lasting improvements in people's lives.

How Will It Work?

  • The center will be funded for the first two years, offering free training and support.
  • After that, the businesses started at the center will hopefully contribute to keeping it going.

The Money Part

  • They need £158,342 to make this happen.
  • They have only had one donor so far.

In Simple Words:

The MAV Centre wants to create a place where people in townships can learn, start businesses, and make their community a better place. They're asking for help to buy a building and get the project started.

It's a really good idea to help people learn skills and start businesses because that helps them to help themselves.

 Thank you!
