Project Report | Jul 13, 2018
"It takes a village"

By Betty Lopez | Project Leader

Greetings

I hope everyone's summer is going well.

Recently the women in the community have been given an opportunity to sell their paper flowers in Texas. This enables them to earn money as well as helping in our ultimate goal in building the community learning center. We are grateful to our supporters in Dallas, Little Things Matter for making this possible. The women have a great time bonding, as well as expressing their talent and creativity.

We have modified the building plan and hopes this can become a reality soon. We are fortunate to have great supporters, nothing is too small! I'd like to thank Dietland Vanderschaff for her donation from proceeds from her encaustic exhibit in Portland Maine. This is exciting also to us, her father was a volunteer in the past and shows the excitement and commitment amongst our Ojala family.

School is out, we are working hard to maintain fun, inspiring classes. A new building would be of great use during these monsoon rains.

We are hosting a concert at the historic capilla de San Miguel Viejo on July 29th, not only does this  raise awareness for Ojala as well as funds but it's a great afternoon to the members of the community we serve.

On behalf of the children of Ojala and the community of San Miguel Viejo, I thank you for your continued support

Best Regards

Betty Lopez
