Hello Everyone,
From the time we initiated this project and started planning it's execution, many changes have taken place. We have worked hard creating a safe, viable space for learning despite the changes in our world and even in our organization. Our situation worsened here in central Mexico (as all over the world) during Covid when families lost work and had no access to income. For well over a year our focus became the day to day wellbeing of the families we serve.
We survived! We are back and better than ever with a clear vision of our Community Center to benefit the children of San Miguel Viejo in Central Mexico! Attached is the Architectural plan.
We have utilized the lot all along for special celebrations, we have a playground that the kids love. Special to all is our garden. Barry's Huerta, dedicated to long time Ojala Supporter, Barry Annino. Kids share in the maintenance of the cooperative garden along with a local volunteer.
In September, Mexico celebrates their Independence. We strive to help our children become independent also. We provide a variety of learning materials, teach them to study smarter and develop good study habits. We are an after-school program that offers many workshops including tutoring 5 days a week. We have seen our attendance grow and we continue working to see our community learning center become a reality.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely
Betty Lopez
