How are we nearing the end of the year already? Are those Christmas carols we hear?
Well, we are incredibly grateful to have made it this far.
2021 has been quite the rollercoaster ride. Having experienced multiple lockdowns last year, we thought we had got the hang of it but alas! We are still learning.
Schools have remained closed and sadly, we have barely interacted with the children we work with. Our plans to set up the foundation for the first learning centre have been slowed down but we are determined to bring the dream to life- eventually.
While we cannot facilitate learning activities with the children, we have continued to engage our volunteers and supporters.
You can read some of our volunteers' experiences here.
We have mainly focused our energy on providing urgent support for vulnerable groups.
We were able to donate foodstuffs worth Ugx 3,287,000 (almost $1000) to the families of the children we support, along with their teachers.
In July, our Team leader teamed up with a Doctor (Dr. John Mark Bwanika) to run a fundraising drive for Healthcare workers who have worked tirelessly during the pandemic. They were able to raise over Ugx 23 million (aproximately $6,400). The funds were used to purchase groceries, masks and sanitisers for Healthcare workers across 5 hospitals in Entebbe, Sorori, Gulu, Mbarara and Fort Portal. Distribution was concluded this week.
We are indebted to you for your support.
Much love to you and yours.
