Here is our January 2021 update on how we at OpenmindProjects react and adapt to Covid, moving on with support from volunteers, trainee alumni and you!
Economics Nobel Laureate Esther Duflo advised young students about the best way to learn: “Go out there, get some experience! Volunteer in an NGO” We at OpenmindProjects liked that!
We had great volunteers during the first few months of 2020. They had to leave one by one. So had our trainees. Covid reminded us about the unexpected and negative effects of globalization! Our work with trainees, volunteers, camps, schools was disrupted.
What happened? How are we adapting to life after Covid?
Now we work with our talented OMP alumni and volunteers from Cisco to help us adapt to Covid and find new ways to work and help poor village kids in Thailand, Laos and neighboring countries in 2021!
We plan and prepare, later in 2021, to welcome back trainees, campers, volunteers, to our new center and to camps, Covid vaccine and travel permitting.
We arrange a camp now in January for the Non Formal Education Authority and plan for April holiday camps in NongKhai and Krabi, with online and onsite volunteers funding permitting!
