This last quarter has been busy for Fundación León! Our team, lead by Verónica Auerr, has supported over 3000 families in periurban and rural communities in Northwest Argentina who are living in poverty, COVID 19, unemployment and high inflation. Family members pair up with our professional tutors, who provide orientation through supportive one-on-one relationships. Families and tutors set and meet goals that enable them to break the cycle of poverty.
Additional support has been given through our high school scholarship program, which fosters teens' educational needs, and our HIPPY Program, which provides support for preschoolers' families in low income contexts. Seniors and persons with disabilities, and their carers, also received support through our Senior Support Program, our Community Pharmacy and our Wheelchair Bank. Over 30 female community leaders were trained as carers and recevied certification, and 40 women received micro credits from our Grameen Program.
Thanks to your help, we reached 10,000 people during the last six months!
