What happens on rainy season

By Luisa Ramos | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Hello and very good day to all of you!!!

As you well know, we are in the wonderful Sierra Tarahumara, at a very special moment for us: the long-awaited rainy season begins, which is essential in order to fulfill the purpose of our project.

This specific season is very important for us, it means that all the people whom we have already helped acquire their own harvesting system, will finally be able to start collecting rainwater, that will be their only source of drinking potable water for several months where they do not have access to this vital liquid.

Therefore, the beginning of the rainy season is a reason for joy and festivity in the Rarámuri communities, it comes to give life by nurturing the land that will provide food to the entire community; specially after suffering months of drought and wildfires.

Rest assure that our work is not over yet, on the contrary, we like to speed up the pace on this season. Our goal is to install as much systems as possible, so that more people can benefit.

However, it is not easy, reaching the communities proves to be challenging, the roads become difficult and dangerous to transit.

But nothing can stop us, and thanks to your support, through each donation we received, we managed to reach and impact more families in need.

You make our work easier and more rewarding. We still have a long way to go, many more families to help, but we trust that we will have your support to achieve our goals.
