We continue to make incredible steps forward at The Marc Bolan School of Music and Film. Building on our vision of empowering our students to create change for the good through music and film our students have launched a district and nationwide campaign to drastically improve the terrible state of water sanitation, and its dire councesquences, in Sierra Leone.
Two of our students have put together a team to present their Water Sanitaion film documantary (made at The Marc Bolan School) to influential people around the Bombali District, where our school is situated, and beyond. Only 2% (2019 figures) of the country's population have access to clean running water, leaving millions exposed to dangerous sources such as pools, rivers and self-made wells. Our students have prepared a list of academics, doctors and nurses as well as councillors whom they have invited to participate in their presentations and join in the cause. They are visiting towns and villages and the keen and serious response of the population is clear to see. Below are some images of these participants, as well as the students. Included are images of our intrepid Keh Keh - overloaded but keen to spread the word, to promote the campaign for clean water so vital to the health of the entire nation.
Please continue to help us! We are providing tutorials and lessons in music and film and now important life skills for our students to create a better, longer and healtheir life for themselves and their compatriots. We are succeeding - our students are creating life-saving change!
