Summary
With a view to reducing the risk of coronavirus on cancer patients, the mask up initiative which started on the 4th of june was geared towards eliminating the risk of cancer patients contracting the deadly virus by donating quality masks to cancer patients and their caregivers.
Target reached
The initiative donated masks to the oncology department of various hospitals across different states in Nigeria. From NSIA-LUTH Cancer Center (NLCC) In Surulere, Lagos to Oncology department of National Hospital, Abuja to Ibadan, Kebbi,Gombe and Enugu. With over 600 quality masks donated to these locations, cancer patients and their caregivers were equipped to stop the spread of the deadly virus.
Challenges
Due to limited funding, we were only able to reach 6 states out of the 36 states in the country. There are still thousands of patients who need help, please help by sending this email to friends, family and colleagues to support the cause, by donating to our project, which will reduce the risk for this immuno-compromised being infected with covid-19 virus.
