We do have regular operating expenses, like website hosting, postage and printing, but we also use the Operating Expense funds to cover other items that we haven't directly fundraised for. Sometimes opportunites that are too good to pass up are presented to us. That happened recently. We worked with CapeCares and Knights of Malta to secure a donation of food for the people of El Rodeito and the other nearby villages.
We received and delivered rice, beans, some masks, and some flip flops. The items were free, except for the cost to pick up and deliver. We needed to rent a commercial truck for $400. It was too much food for a small truck.
We picked up ten 100 lb bags of rice and ten 100 lb bags of beans. We delivered this much needed food on April 11th.
We could not have done this without you.
Thank you for your support.
