For the last two months, we work in close contact with our partner the Sisters of RNDM, to make sure that all people who are in need of help is supported. We provided medical support with clinical tests, medical visit and pharmacies and for the families most in need, we help them with nutritional support. We provide basic support consisting of 30 kg of rice, 2 litres of oil, eggs and 25 litres of clean water that is particularly expensive in these dry months.
Moreover, we help the families with medical counselling sessions to avoid any spread of the virus among the other family members and most importantly, we follow closely their procedure for HIV therapy and when is needed we manage to collect the medications for the patients and giving them respecting their privacy.
At the moment we enlarge our support to all the patients that were on waiting lists and who suffer economical complication due to covid-19 crisis. We think that the picture of our grateful patients will speak for us telling how much you helped.
P.s. Dear friends,
today we woke up with unexpected news from newspapers and, more importantly, from our colleagues in Myanmar: the political situation of the country is extremely fragile at the moment and it has been declared the state of emergency. Internet and telephone communication has been interrupted for some hours. When the connection was available again, we immediately reach out to the local staff for news and it seems that all the country is living in a suspended time waiting for the next move to come.
Our goal is to help people who do not have access to medical care and we intend to pursue our goal of friendship without political implications.
I will keep you informed in the next days
