Spanish Translation below

Merenciana was a Pre-School Education student at the Instituto Universitario Jesús Obrero - IUJO who graduated in July 2020, in the midst of the mandatory quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As part of her thesis project "Instructional Strategies based on the techniques of pencil and charcoal to encourage concentration in children aged 4-5 years in the Eleazar Lopez Contreras community", Merenciana began, in early 2020, her professional practices in the "Miguel Villavicencio" school located in Artigas, Caracas; a school with adequate infrastructure and a conventional learning environment for teaching at the preschool level.
In March 2020, as a health measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the government authorities of our country decided to suspend all forms and levels of on-site school activities. For this reason, Merenciana was forced to reinvent her project and move it to the community where she lives, in El Junquito a low-income area located west of Caracas.
Unfortunately, the area did not have a school with the appropriate infrastructure to continue with her project, which is why she was forced to:
- Obtain authorization from local school authorities to continue with her project.
- Tour the local area house by house to identify children between 4 and 5 years old, who could participate in the project.
- Condition and set up an outdoor area where she could work, a task she carried out with the help of the 7 children who participated in the project.

After a hard work that concluded in June 2020, Merenciana managed to successfully complete her thesis project which she presented to the university authorities on June 30th and with which she obtained her title of Teacher in Preschool Education.
Merenciana wrote "...Finally I can say, never lose faith, hope and desire to realize what you want so much, to study there is no age but will; the title has only my name and my surname, but in my heart and my mind will always be each of the people who contributed to my professional growth including family, teachers, friends, neighbors, different institutions and most importantly, children, without them none of this would have been possible…”

--------
