By Cesario V. Sayre | Project Leader
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project improving the biodiversity of our island. Mindanao is home to high-valued flora and fauna and these are fast disappearing due to the problem of massive loss especially of forest resources due to unabated logging and farming in upland slopes. Lowland people are going to the mountains in order to look for new farms to cultivate and they are contributing to forest loss when they burn forests in order to turn this into farmlands. This reporting period, we are able to provide 300 forest dwellers with 2,000 high-valued fruit and forest trees such as mango, durian, lanzones, jackfruit, mahogany and molave.
In the coming days we will also provide technical trainings on upland farming techniques and care and management of planted trees.
Hoping for your continuing support to this project.
Very sincerely yours,
Cesario Sayre
