This past week we were able to host training sessions with the two community groups we hope to partner with. These sessions took a deep look into societal, cultural, and familial dynamics that might come up when a person takes in and supports an Orphaned or Vulnerable Child. The trainings took place over two days with each group and allowed for a lot of discussion and brainstorming amongst themselves on how best they can handle these issues.
Pictured below, you'll see the two groups; Lur and Madungu. At Lur, we met with 15 caregivers who are on the leadership committee for this group. At Madungu, we met with 45 caregivers Both sessions with both groups were really encouraging and we are excited to continue working towards these partnerships!
