All of the craziness of the past year and a half made us reevaluate our programming and staff with the health and well-being of our residents at the forefront of all of our conversations. With the shutdown not allowing in person activities or gatherings, we realized how disconnected our population was from the services and supports they need. This sparked a search for new staff that would be able to assist residents in dealing with a variety of issues. We now have a resident counselor with training in substance abuse recovery support, a resident counselor with experience in teaching life skills to populations like ours, and a resident counselor with experience in mental health counseling support. They support our case managers, who continue to provide direct services to residents. Bringing these services in-house ensured that our residents can rely more heavily on WHC staff and not worry about finding supports on their own. Your support helps us continue to evolve and grow with the world around us. Thank you for allowing us to continue our work, we couldn't do it without you!
