Introducing football into the lives of children with disabilities brings a unique and joyful experience to these youngsters. The closure during the pandemic deprived them of this enjoyable opportunity to play, have fun and learn through football.
After a hiatus of 2 years, the OSCAR Foundation has launched the Enabling Change Project on the ground. We are working with 113 children with disabilities in Mumbai, engaging them in our specially designed football and life skills program. Our tailored curriculum aims to provide meaningful sessions for these children.
Meet Damini, a 14-year-old 7th standard student with hearing and speech impairments and a love for Hindi. She's been a cherished part of the OSCAR Foundation's Football & Life Skills program for the past 5 years. Before OSCAR, Damini grappled with a short temper, but her journey with us has turned her into a patient and serene individual. Embracing new friendships, she's adopted positive habits from her peers, attentively following instructions with grace.
Previously, Damini's impatience hindered her studies, but now, actively engaging in football has transformed her behavior positively. Grateful for the secure space OSCAR provides, Damini has discovered a deep passion for football. In her home with working parents, her mother a house help, her father a watchman and two siblings, Damini's OSCAR journey has profoundly touched her life and that of her family.
