Enable children with disabilities in Indian slums.

Yutika, a 13 year old participant in OSCAR Foundation's Enabling Change Project, has experienced significant positive changes since joining the programme. Despite being deaf and mute, she has become more active and focused, excelling both in football and academics. Previously disinterested in sports and inclined towards unhealthy eating habits, Yutika now finds joy in football, which has boosted her confidence, leadership skills and communication with her teammates. Her shift towards healthier eating has also contributed to improved physical and mental well-being.

Enabling Change Project has been instrumental in Yutika’s growth by creating an inclusive environment where she can thrive. Through this initiative, she has gained confidence, sharpened her focus in class and developed a deep passion for football. In addition to her love of football, Yutika enjoys dancing, drawing and learning computer skills. She continues to address challenges in maths and science, all while aspiring to a future in the healthcare sector. Enabling Change Project has empowered Yutika to seize new opportunities and pursue her ambitions with determination, highlighting the programme’s positive impact on her life.

Yutika's mother expresses her thoughts: "I am Yutika’s mother, and I feel incredibly fortunate that she is part of OSCAR programme. Before joining OSCAR, she was not doing well—she was quite lazy. But now, she is active and confident. Playing football and participating in the programme has made her feel more self-assured and energetic. She is now excelling in both her studies and football. I believe OSCAR has given my daughter the opportunity to present herself with confidence."
