Three-Month Comprehensive Report: August to November 2024
Hamara Apna School (Bamboo School)
This report highlights the progress, achievements, challenges, and key activities undertaken at
Hamara Apna School from August to November 2024.
Key Highlights
1. School Enrolment and Attendance:
o Total Students: 47
o New Admissions: Increased enrolment due to community outreach, although some
students dropped out due to distance issues.
o Children have consistently improved attendance and punctuality, adopting a
disciplined routine.

2. Routine Development and Behavioural Changes:
o Students now understand the importance of personal hygiene, waking up early,
getting dressed, and saying Bismillah before breakfast and cleanliness.
o Improved manners and respectful behaviour are noticeable; students now address
elders and peers appropriately.

3. Academic Progress:
o Students are being taught English, Urdu, and Mathematics, with additions to the
curriculum such as:
Basic calculations (addition and subtraction) for daily life applications.
Interactive activities, including singing Urdu poems and storytelling.
Joining word( jor tor) for urdu is being introduced to students.
o Categorization of Students:
Students are divided into three groups:
GA (High Achievers)
GB (Mediocre)
GC (Strugglers)
This categorization has allowed teachers to tailor activities and assessments
to individual learning levels.

4. Digital Learning and Innovation:
o Videos played on a TV screen expose children to the outside world and enhance
their learning experiences.
5. Extracurricular Activities:

o Independence Day Celebration (August): Enthusiastic participation by students,
fostering a sense of patriotism.
o Storytelling sessions and visits by Hafizabad Team School 2 and Kassoke Team
School.
o Gardening activities: Students are involved in cultivating homegrown vegetables,
which serve dual purposes:
The produce is used for cooking.
The activity promotes a greener environment.

6. Monitoring and Data Collection:
o A CCTV camera was installed to enable the LUMS and ALBBS teams to monitor
classroom activities and teacher performance as part of LUMS practicum project.
o Reading Assessment Surveys were conducted to gauge literacy levels.
o Student Data Forms were completed to understand family backgrounds and provide
tailored support.

7. Teacher Training and Curriculum Development:
o The LUMS team initiated a practicum to improve literacy, numeracy, and life skills.
o Meetings with teachers and parent engagement sessions will be conducted as part
of the curriculum development process in the coming months.
o Teachers have been asked to start informal assessments for high achievers to
challenge their abilities.

Achievements
1. Students have demonstrated significant improvement in literacy and numeracy skills.
2. Children are now showing curiosity and actively participating in lessons.
3. The school environment is vibrant and engaging, making children happy and eager to learn.
4. Community perception of the school has improved; many locals now believe it to be a high-
end private institution because of its structured teaching of both English and Urdu.

Challenges
1. Student Retention:
o Some children dropped out due to the school’s distance from their homes.
2. Resource Constraints:
o Limited access to notebooks, stationery, and teaching materials.
3. Community Awareness:

o Convincing families about the long-term importance of education remains a
challenge. Some parents still prioritize children helping with chores or tending goats.

4. Teacher Support:
o Teachers need additional training and resources to further enhance the quality of
education.

Performance of Students (August – November)
Total Students: 47
Subjects Covered:
o English: All students can recognize and recite the English alphabet.
o Urdu: Students are familiar with Urdu alphabets and can write simple words.
o Math: Students have learned counting and basic addition.

Future Plans (December 2024 – February 2025)
1. Infrastructure and Resources:
o Improve availability of teaching materials (books, notebooks, stationery).
o Introduce additional interactive tools for digital learning.
2. Parent and Community Engagement:
o Conduct workshops to increase awareness about the importance of education.
o Build stronger relationships with parents to ensure consistent student attendance.
3. Curriculum Development:
o Finalize the curriculum and toolkit with the LUMS and ALBBS teams.
o Roll out a pilot program incorporating the newly designed literacy and numeracy
modules.
4. Teacher Training:
o Organize professional development sessions for teachers to enhance teaching
strategies and classroom management skills.

5. Expand Enrollment:
o Conduct outreach campaigns to bring more children to school, particularly those
currently out of the education system.

Conclusion
Hamara Apna School has made significant progress over the last three months. Despite challenges,
the school is creating a positive impact in the community by instilling a sense of discipline and

curiosity among children. With continued efforts and support, we aim to overcome existing
challenges and further enhance the quality of education and resources provided to these children.
