This project is so lucky to have supporters like you. Phenylketonuria is a rare condition, and because not many people know about it, it can be hard to explain why the medical food crisis for Palestinian PKU children is so dire. If a PKU child can’t have affordable and reliable access to medical food, they face permanent brain damage, and even death.
There's got to be a way to keep them all healthy. In the West Bank there are 70 PKU babies and 300 PKU children over 3; in Gaza, there are 40 PKU babies and 180 PKU children over 3. Each child needs $250 of medical food every month for life.
Let's try something. When you're next sitting down with loved ones (maybe over Thanksgiving dinner), try inviting nine people to join you in giving $25 a month to deliver special medical food to one PKU child. Their parents will share something wonderful about them, and keep you posted as they grow.
To rally your friends, you can make your own fundraising page and choose your own picture and message. Feel free to contact us at contact@rebuildingalliance.org if you need help. We can also help you over Zoom.

P.S. A father of a PKU child said this after receiving free medical food from this project: "I can't thank you enough. This has saved my daughter's life. I will be forever grateful."
