Each year India has an estimated 1.2 million new cancer diagnoses. Many of those are diagnosed have advanced cancers that require palliative care from diagnosis through treatment and at end-of-life.
In 2012, the government introduced palliative care as part of nursing and medical training. Since then Two Worlds Cancer Collaboration has partnered with organizations in India to train healthcare providers (HCPs) in palliative care to meet the urgent and growing need for this care. Through an internationally recognized virtual education program 1000s of HCPS are trained – becoming trainers themselves and advocates for palliative care in their communities.
Your support of Two Worlds Cancer Collaboration via GlobalGiving means that healthcare providers in India are trained in the specialized, compassionate care that so many children and adults diagnosed with cancer need.
